Litigation Legal Assistant/Secretary
(Salary range: $55,000-$65,000 annually)
Position Type: Full-Time
We are growing and looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Litigation Legal Assistant/Secretary to support our litigation/municipal defense team. The successful candidate will work with a dynamic team of attorneys and paralegals on defense matters in both state and federal courts. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys
- Prepare and proofread legal documents, including notices of Claim, Answers and acknowledgment letters
- Maintain calendars and track deadlines
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts and third parties
- File documents electronically with both state and federal courts
- Maintain digital files with precision
- Schedule depositions, mediations, and meetings; coordinate with clients and court personnel
- Handle dictation, calls, emails, and general office tasks
- Copy, scan, mail or arrange delivery of legal correspondence
- Prepare and distribute client invoices and process account expenses
- Keep operations running smoothly behind the scenes
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of legal assistant experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal technology tools
- Proficiency with electronic filing systems in both state and federal courts
- Strong organizational, communication and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
